The livestock came to Full Tilt so the Aussies would have a way to practice herding. I always wanted sheep anyway and I wanted sheep that could produce wool. I chose Southdowns because they are a breed that is hardy and smaller. I felt both would be good attributes for first time sheep owners. The goats are an assortment of dairy and meat breeds.
I got the ducks - Khaki Campbell - for herding and eggs. The White Embden geese were a bit of a capricious decision. I wanted a few to help weed the garden but I didn't want as many as would have been a minimum shipment from most catalog hatcheries. I found the goslings at the local farm supply store and I took a chance.
